Battlefield 3 – Multiplayer at its finest.

I dive behind cover as the wall above me shatters into a million tiny fragments, the shrill whizzing sound of bullets rushing past my head overloads my senses. The noise of war, loud and uncompromising, further adding to the confusion of an already chaotic battle.

I call for support from my squad mates and they start returning fire over the bridge, I scramble along the ground, my pace agonisingly slow. With the enemy momentarily suppressed I scramble to my feet and attempt to move to the closest building. Before I have reached the doorway a deafening explosion erupts beside me as I am thrown clear, the MI-28 screams overhead unloading more ordinance, covered in debris I lay prone, catching my breath.…

Stalker: Call of Pripyat

While most gamers these days grew up on the shitty Playstation, spoon fed shitty sports title after another, those of us who were there at the beginning lamented the loss of innocence in the video game world. No longer would advanced complexity and world building play a part in moving the video game world forward, instead it was “graphics” and “simplification” that would forever reign supreme.
